Alstonville Bow Out Of Anzac CupByron Bay will now meet Goonellabah in the Anzac Day final at Oakes Oval, after the Hornets 3-1 extra time win over a plucky Alstonville in the other semi. Villa led 1-0 at half-time thanks to a well-taken goal from striker Joel Perkins, but Goonellabah took the game into extra time with a second-half goal from captain Matt Dorigo. Finalists decided tonightThe opening game at 6.15pm pits 2006 Anzac Cup winners Goonellabah against Alstonville, which has reached the semis for just the second time. Goonellabah is in good early form and will be strong favourites, but Villa has shown early promise and their well-drilled outfit will test the Hornets. Cup holders for the past two years, Richmond Rovers will take on the previous winner Byron Bay at 8pm. Both sides showed good form to win their opening premiership games on Saturday and between them the clubs have won five of the past seven cup titles.
